I have really been using this group of characters I am working on as therapy these past few months. This is something I've been working on for about a week now, in between busyness.

Heavily inspired by Billy Joel's "And So it Goes".

I am attempting a few new things here. Firstly, and most noticeably, I am using a pre-made background stock photo (from www.cgtextures.com). I thought it may add the grittiness I was searching for.

Secondly, I am trying to create a piece that tells a story with many details. It didn't start out that way, I was just doodling, but as I thought about it more, some of Makks' personality that I did not even know was there came to light, and it was a character flaw that I myself experience. Heh, so I feel I am finally getting to know this character a bit more.

I don't know if all the pieces fall together in the way I see them, but maybe they can be interpreted in many ways.
